Mechanical Project Engineer

Position Summary Position Summary  Responsible for designing products which will be used in an industrial environment. This involves the design of industrial electrical connectors and/or the design of sealed enclosures containing various electronic, optical, or mechanical devices. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. #LI-MB1 #techjobs Preferred Qualifications 8 or more years product design experience Functional: Must have 8 or more years of recent product design experience developing products for use in industrial, consumer or medical applications. Prior experience designing electrical connectors, optical/inductive sensors, mechanical sensors and knowledge of UL, CSA, TUV, and IEC standards is highly desirable. Must be knowledgeable on NEMA/Ingress Protection standards for industrial electro-mechanical devices. Must be proficient in the use of a 3D Solid Modeling CAD system Needs to provide the necessary "hands-on" expertise to resolve complex, cross-functional issues regarding product functionality, assembly methods and product qualification while meeting aggressive product cost targets and schedules. Must have good interpersonal skills and work well within a team environment. Prior project and team management experience is a plus. Must be capable of creating innovative designs suitable for high volume production. Must be capable of defining and supervising engineering tests to qualify product designs. Job content includes some detailed documentation tasks and product maintenance. Familiar with SAP, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and Design for Six Sigma tools.  A good understanding of multi-action tooling fabrication techniques to support complex plastic injection molded or die cast component design is a plus. A good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing standards, modern machining techniques and processes, and rapid prototyping methods. Leadership: Must be capable of defining and supervising engineering tests to qualify designs. Needs to provide the necessary "hands-on" expertise to resolve complex, cross-functional   issues regarding product functionality, assembly methods and product qualification while meeting aggressive product cost targets and schedules. Interpersonal Must have good interpersonal skills and work well within a team environment. Prior project and mentoring experience is a plus. Business   Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network. Experience Requirements: Designing electrical connectors, optical/inductive sensors, mechanical sensors and knowledge of UL, CSA and IEC standards is highly desirable. Must be proficient in the use of a 3D Solid Modeling CAD systems and Structural/Thermal analysis tools. Must be capable of creating innovative designs suitable for high volume production. Job content includes some detailed documentation tasks and product maintenance. Familiar with SAP, Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and Design for Six Sigma tools a plus. A good understanding of materials science relating to thermoplastic molding and plastic part design. A good understanding of multi-action tooling fabrication techniques to support complex plastic injection molded or die cast component design is a plus. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
