Brooks is a dynamic, fast paced, and growing leader in providing product and service solutions to the semiconductor and life sciences industries. As part of our corporate accounting team, this hands-on role will primarily support Brooks Life Sciences business by performing revenue accounting and analysis, and ensuring the proper accounting of routine and non-routine transactions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews contracts and product/service offering terms, and determines accounting related to multiple element arrangements and percentage of completion accounting
  • Determines relative selling price/SSP allocations for complex multiple element arrangements
  • Provides guidance on revenue recognition & accounting matters
  • Works directly with business partners to identify, gather information, and resolve any revenue recognition issues
  • Works with other finance & accounting team members in support of the monthly financial close, with specific responsibility in providing timely revenue accounting guidance
  • Supports successful implementation and adoption of ASC 606 (effective for Brooks 10/1/18)
  • Provides audit support for moderate to complex areas requiring estimates & judgment

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS Accounting or related degree, with a minimum of 5 years experience, with 2+ plus years of revenue recognition experience and strong understanding of ASC 605 and 606
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to research, apply, and document applicable accounting guidance
  • MS Excel skills at an advanced level
  • Experience with Oracle is a plus
  • Experience with Revenue Recognition Software a plus
  • CPA, with Big 4 public accounting experience preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
