Job Summary
AECOM is looking for an experienced Marine Scientist/Biologist to join our northeast region marine and IAP/natural resources practice in New England. This position will support an extensive portfolio of projects in coastal, near shore and offshore marine environments in the United States. We are looking for a superior candidate with a strong foundation in marine science with a focus on biological resources. Technical disciplines preferred include marine fisheries, benthic communities, pelagic communities, phyto/zooplankton along with marine mammals and marine turtles. A proven track record in a consulting or research capacity is preferred and willingness to work on offshore energy development projects in addition to other industrial and commercial development projects in the coastal and marine setting required. Strong writing skills, working knowledge of marine related regulatory programs (CWA, BOEM, Oil and Gas) along with prior experience in the evaluation and impact assessment of these projects required. Office and field support as needed. This is not a laboratory position. The successful candidate will have a BS (MS Preferred) in marine biology, marine science, oceanography or related discipline and be able work within a team environment for the successful execution of projects in the marine setting. This role may be based out of Pocasset or Chelmsford, MA.
Specific responsibilities include:
+ Research, report writing and permitting of facilities in the marine and coastal environment.
+ Technical background in applied marine science (biological) supporting scientific studies, sampling programs and permitting in the marine environment.
+ Strong team-oriented focus both working with Project Managers and working with staff executing concurrent tasks..
+ Ability to oversee collection and analysis of large spatially explicit data sets.
+ Prior history working in New England and U.S. coastal and offshore locations executing scientific studies. Experience with oil and gas development preferred.
+ Experience supporting studies and permitting for offshore wind development projects.
+ Ability to work with Project Managers to prepare responses to Task Order Requests, pricing, scoping of work .
+ Directing field programs involving field sampling in marine setting, biological and chemical sampling, coordination with laboratories and vendors.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor?s degree (MS Preferred) in a relevant technical discipline, such as marine science, ecology, biology/chemistry, or other environmental discipline.
+ 5-10+ years of scientific and/or technical experience working in related technical field, or equivalent experience.. ..
+ Ability to write and review complex technical documents, perform high level review and strategy,
+ Computer proficient in MS Office, ESRI ARC GIS, and a variety of statistical programs helpful. Comprehension of Government compliant technical reports, deliverables, recordkeeping.
+ Some regional project travel required (25%).

+ Master?s in a relevant technical discipline, such ecology, environmental engineering or other environmental discipline

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
