One of the US leading SDVOSB defense contractors is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for our US Navy business.

Our business model is build to print high reliability, mission critical electronic assemblies which includes pcba s, cables, harnesses, and box build for the US Navy.

Specific Duties:


Responsibilities:


  • Resolves technical problems encountered during the production process.
  • Creates and maintains manufacturing visual aids and routings, bills of material, detailed assembly and inspection instructions, and visual aids as required to process manufacturing orders.
  • Creates tooling and fixturing to facilitate production.
  • Review engineering ECO packages for signoff.
  • Reviews, approves, and/or develops specifications for purchases
  • Reviews requests for quotation ensuring information is a complete-statement of work, quantity, and special instructions.


  • Evaluates customer s mechanical and electrical build to print documentation.
  • Military chassis electronic assemblies such as pcba's, cables, and backplanes:
    Interpret customer and technical specifications, drawings, engineering instructions, and fabrications and communicate requirements to the factory.
  • Develops programs for production equipment such as SMT, AOI, xRay, Wave solder, wire cut and stripping,
  • Analyzes current processes and implements process improvements to reduce costs and/or increase quality. Evaluates scope of project and determines production labor and material requirements.
  • Incorporates customer s change notices into manufacturing document.
  • Creates and maintains routings, Bills of Material, drawings, detailed assembly and inspection instructions and visual aids as required to process order. Creates tooling and fixturing to facilitate production.
  • Reviews, approves and/or develops specifications for purchases for fixtures.
  • Develop and document operating procedures and work instructions with the focus on continued productivity and quality.
  • Be fluent in Excel, PDF editing and word spreadsheets.

Experience:


  • B.S. Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in a Defense Contracting environment
  • Not less than 2 years previous electronic manufacturing experience.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical problem solving required.
  • Experience in Total Quality Management and process improvement.
  • Advanced excel skills.
